Field notes

South window

A short notebook of weather, trains, and the view from a rented desk. Nothing here is for sale.

Tuesday, early

The light hits the opposite roof at half past seven and stays there until the baker opens. I keep a pencil on the sill for the days when the cloud is low enough to write down.

If you came looking for a shop, it is two streets over and it closes at four. This page is only the notebook.

The slow train

On Thursdays the late train waits for the school group. The board in the hall is more accurate than the one on the platform, which still shows last winter's times in faded ink.

A longer note lives with the timetable.
